Bright sun and blue skies during the day...
clear nights with millions of stars...
You can look forward to these things and more at Tres Palmas Bed and Breakfast in
Palm Desert, California. Only one block from famous El Paseo, the Rodeo Drive of the
Desert where you will find boutiques, galleries and fine restaurants.
Just three blocks from Palm Desert Town Center with it's many stores, movie theaters and indoor ice skating. Close to the McCallum Theater for the Performing Arts, the Living Desert and Palm Springs Attractions.
Guest rooms feature private baths, individual climate controls, color televisions and queen or king size beds. Each room has been uniquely decorated in southwestern style.
You will enjoy a continental breakfast with specialty coffees and teas, freshly baked muffins or breads, fresh fruits, juices, yogurt and granola. Eat in the dining room, outside around the pool or take a tray to your room
Because we have only four guest rooms, we can visit with you and do what we can to make your stay in Palm Desert even more pleasant.
One place I might have missed telling you about in my recent feature on Palm Springs is Tres Palmas Bed and Breakfast (73135 Tumbleweed Lane in Palm Desert), located just three blocks from the Palm Desert Town Center and one block from El Paseo, "The Rodeo Drive of the Desert." Decorated in Southwest style, each of the four non-smoking guest rooms range in price from $90.00 a room with a queen bed, small sitting area, and white wash and green iron furnishings, to $140.00 for a 4-poster king sized bed with a love seat, private patio, and close-by swimming pool.
But, why stay at a bed and breakfast when Palm Springs and Palm Desert have some of the best big, luxury hotels in California? It was answered when our friends Chris Miller and his wife Debbie visited Tres Palmas a couple weeks ago.

"First of all," Chris told me, "your car is right there in the horseshoe driveway. It's better than at a hotel where you have to walk a half mile to find a parking space. It's not just a reconverted house, Tres Palmas is specially designed and built to accommodate four couples in individual rooms." And each room, unlike a hotel, is different, and unlike some bed and breakfasts, has many of the amenities, including hand soap and shampoo.
The view from the pool is spectacular (you get a Southwestern motif beach towel during your stay) and each room, unlike a hotel, has individual thermostats for personalized comfort.
Breakfast on one morning, for example, featured freshly-baked muffins, granola cereal, various flavored coffees, fresh fruit, yogurt, and a selection of juices. And, if you tell hosts Karen and Terry Bennett your special needs, they can supply them too.
As a special treat, Chris and Debbie took a walk up to The Living Desert, an environmental zoo and botanical gardens located a couple miles from Tres Palmas. "They had all sorts of wild animals, like mountain goats, bobcats, and mountain lions. It was really beautiful and, actually, much nicer than the L.A. Zoo.," Chris explained. This, plus the fact that El Paseo, with its elite shops, is just a few short minutes walk away, makes Tres Palmas an ideal destination for those seeking something private and personalized.
