On the other hand, if you would like some tips on using the search engine, here they are.
Below is what the search engine form looks like. It is not a working form. It is merely a sample to show you how it looks. When you press the "Search Now" button it takes you to the search engine.
Step 1. Use the down arrow (where it says Alabama) to open the list of states to select the state in which you would like to find a bed and breakfast. If you press the "Search Now" button after that you will be able to scroll through all the bed and breakfast inns listed in that state, 25 at a time. Some states have less than 100 inns. Some states have more than 1,500 bed and breakfast inns.
Step 2. Type any word or phrase into one or more boxes labeled "Keywords" For example, if you've selected Florida as the state and type Miami into a keywords box you will get all bed and breakfast inns that have the word Miami in their listing. If you type the word fish in another box you will be given only the inns that have the words "Miami" and "fish" or "fishing" or "fisherman" in them. If someone recommended an inn that was named the "Green something or other" and forgot the rest of the name, you could add the word "green" to another box. That would give you all the bed and breakfast inns that had the words "Miami and Fish and Green" in their listing. That would work if you leave the line labeled "Options" alone, and allow the dot to remain in the "AND" Keywords button. If you move that dot to the "OR" button it will give you a list of all the bed and breakfast inns in Florida that have any of those three words in their listing instead of any that have all three words in their listing.
Any word or "string" you place in the Keywords box will limit the search. Keep in mind that the it will search only in the state you selected.
If you enter the word "Dallas" it will give you a list of all those inns that have the word Dallas in their file.
If you would like to find all the inns in both Anchorage and Homer, Alaska, put both town names in the key words boxes and change the Options button from "And Keywords" to "OR Keywords". You will get a list of all the inns in both towns.
You may enter a zip code to narrow down your search or even the name of a street. For example if you wanted to locate an inn on Avenida Menendez in Florida, you only need to enter "Avenida Menendez" in the Florida listings. You will get a list of whatever inns are on that street.
You can shorten your data entry by using less letters. If you enter the word "Dal" it will also give you all those inns that have the word "Dallas" in their file.
If you enter the word "fish" it will give you all the inns that have any of the following words in their file: fish, fishing, Fishville, Fishing
Pier, Fisherman's Wharf, etc.
You may enter more than one search word to further refine your search. Don't be afraid to experiment with the search engine. You can always go back and try again.
Some suggestions of the kind of words you might use: jacuzzi, handicap, antique, beach, horse, breakfast, fireplace, bicycle, hot tub, antiques, gay, Grand Canyon, hiking, bird watching, Times Square, pets, weddings, fall foliage, hunting, lobster, etc. You can put in the name of a festival, a street name or even a zip code.etc.
